Questions before you go.

Clear answers for Kilimanjaro preparation, route planning, inclusions, safety and optional extras.

What is usually included in a Kilimanjaro climb?

Agreed climb prices usually include airport transfer arrangements, two nights' bed and breakfast accommodation before and after the climb, meals and refreshments on the mountain, camping or hut fees, park entry, rescue fees, mountain crew wages, transport to and from the gate, taxes and VAT. Always confirm inclusions in your final quote.

What is not included?

Do I need to be very fit for Kilimanjaro?

You do not need technical climbing experience, but you do need good cardiovascular fitness, hiking preparation and a medical check where appropriate. A travel clinic or doctor should advise on health suitability, vaccinations and altitude medication.

Can dietary requirements be accommodated?

Yes, requirements such as vegan, vegetarian, pescatarian, lactose intolerance, gluten-free, nut-free and other allergies can usually be accommodated when shared in advance.

Which Kilimanjaro routes are best?

Machame and Lemosho are strong options for scenery and acclimatisation. Marangu is the hut route. Northern Circuit is longer and more gradual. The best route depends on time, budget, fitness and travel style.

Can I add safari or Zanzibar?

Yes. Venture Tanzania is structured to combine Kilimanjaro with safari, Zanzibar and cultural experiences through trusted local partners.
